M.I.A....
Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I've been super busy with school, traveling, and finding a job (which I did get :) ) We had to go to Iowa for my Grandfather-in-law's funeral. My husband and I were ask to be part of the funeral detail for his Military Honors. That was rough, but we managed to not completely screw it up. While we were gone, I got the call that I was offered the recreation assistant job at the lake. So, that was great news. Today was supposed to be my first day but, I had class. Tomorrow I have to be there at 7:30!! OMG I'm SO not used to being up that early. I have no idea when I'll be off work either. I hope I'm not there until 5. I think I'd end up quitting tomorrow if that happened lol. So, if I'm off early, then hopefully I will be able to catch up on some things :)

Breast Cancer Awareness
It shouldn't be just for the month of october. This is something that's going on around us everyday. I just found out a few days ago that my sister has been diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. She went in today for surgery to have the spot removed. Luckily it was benign. If she had gone 2 to 3 more years without having it removed it would have developed into breast cancer. She is supposed to get the results back thursday. So, until then, my nails will look like this. For her :)

I used 3 coats of N.Y.C. Black Lace Creme and for the ribbon I used OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender. I don't have any Konads or anything so I had to freehand the ribbons lol.

Nail wear update
Just got back from the lake. We were out there about 4 hours. It was a blast. Just wanted to show how well my nails held up. I'm surprised at how well they did considering we were tubing and having to hold on and the tube rubbing them... but here they are..
Only a little tip wear. This is the 3rd day with this polish on. It's held up pretty well I'd say. I usually can't do the dishes or take a shower without my polish chipping. Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday :)

Robbery at Sally's Beauty Supply
Ok not really. But I seriously saved some bucks. The original total for the goodies I got yesterday 31.45 without tax. Luckily I have a Sally's card so I saved some money. I ended up only spending 16.77 tax included. So that made me pretty happy :) Here's the goodies...
This is the first Nail Polish Corrector pen I bought... go figure, it was broken. The tip is broken.

Sally's replaced it. I made sure to check it before I bought it this time lol. They really should put things like this in a plastic wrapping thing... just a thought.

here's the haul :)
From left to right: China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, Rock Top Top Coat, China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Seche Rebuild and Finger Paints Pretty as a Portrait. The Seche Rebuild was a buy 2 CG get a Seche Perfect Nail Product free... well, I don't mind if I do. That's part of what saved me some money. I also had a $5 off coupon.

Colors on nails from left to right. (3 coats for all colors) China Glaze Peri-Wink-Le; China Glaze Towel Boy Toy and Finger Paints Pretty as a Portrait. I really like the Peri-wink-le and Pretty as a Portrait... I didn't care too much for Towel Boy Toy without a top coat. It kind of turns into a matte to me. I like my polish GLOSSY :) I'm not too sure about the Rock Top Top Coat yet. It says it dries fast but it doesn't. It's also claims its 5x harder than other top coats and it reaches maximum hardness when exposed to sunlight or UV lamp. Neither of which I've had lately. The past two days it's been cloudy and rainy. Tomorrow I plan on going to the lake so we'll see how well it holds up

I decided to go with Pretty as a Portrait for my nails this week, or until I get aggrivated and peel it all off. I've been doing that lately lol. I really love this color! It's like a purple-y plum with hint of red wine.

PS please excuse the cuticles. I know they look horrible :(

Finger Paints Artistic Azure and Wicked Glitter
I think these are my first Finger Paints polishes and I really thought I'd like them. Well, as far as the polish itself, I do like it. But I didn't care for Artistic Azure too much. It's a blue with a teal-ish green sparkle too it. I really thought it would pop more once on my nails, sadly, I just didn't care for it. I think this was 3 coats.
I broke my middle finger nail off on my steering wheel yesterday when leaving class :(

Now I've never cared for the glitter polishes much because to me, they tend to chip more but, I'm really loving this Wicked Glitter from Finger Paints. I think this is either 2 or 3 coats on top of the Artistic Azure.
